On to the next meal of ‘things we have in the house’. Just as well I bought this pack of ravioli when it was on special a few weeks ago.
The Husband loves ravioli and he cooks it better than I do. He’s much better at pasta in general: he always seems to get the timing right so it’s neither chewy nor soft.
It’s done and he calls me over. It’s some new flavour that we haven’t eaten before. Generally we just get cheese and spinach, but hey, whatever’s cheapest is fine with me. It all seems to taste the same when it’s the pre-made supermarket stuff anyway.
In other words, I am sceptical that the world needed another type of ravioli.
We plonk pasta sauce on it and stir it around. I like how the crimps of the squares catch some of the tomato.
Bite one in half. It’s firm in a good way. The inside is orange with flecks of red. Perhaps it’s supposed to be pumpkin? I wouldn’t say it tastes like ’slow roasted vegetables’ but it tastes alright.
Just another unidentifiable ravioli filling. Fine. Whatever.
I eat my bowl and feel full. Mission accomplished.
