Well, my mouth hurts from so much smiling and my feet hurt from a day in high heels, but it was a beautiful wedding. Must be the first wedding I’ve been involved in without a single hitch, perhaps we should contact Guinness Records.
Heh, you get a really good look at the guests from the bridal table. That table must be the groom’s school friends… there’s the bride’s…
Ooo, entrée! Another bridesmaid bonus, getting served first. And it’s a special vegetarian meal for me… I expected as much from such a thoughtful couple.
Looks like a rocket salad with roasted pumpkin, cheese and walnuts, with balsamic vinegar and… some kind of weird pink sauce.
Munch away, nomnomnomwhoa!
It’s not plain walnut, not even toasted walnut! It’s sugary and crunchy and sticky… caramelised!
Great idea! It really adds something to an otherwise perfectly nice but ordinary salad. The surprise of the texture and the pleasure of the brown sugar sweetness… the perfect little touch, especially since I normally dislike the mild bitterness of walnuts.
Aww. All gone.
The waiter comes. Telling him how much I liked the nuts. He looks very pleased as he collects the plate.
Can’t believe how awesome the cake looks, but I can believe that it was made by the grandmother-of-the-bride. I remember her being very exacting when trying to teach me to cross-stitch when I was seven…
Waiter is back… and he told the chef I liked the nuts so he’s sharing the recipe! Very thoughtful!
Ooo, wedding speeches! My favourite part of receptions… even better than caramelised walnuts.
